We ran a Public Relations campaign for the National Bulk Tanker Association in mid-2025, as the industry lobby group attempted to mount a campaign against the unfair assignment of tolls on the trucking community to use the West Gate Tunnel and West Gate Bridge. We worked with the NBTA on their strategy, to understand what they wanted to achieve with their campaign, and identified media outlets they wanted to hit with their stories. We then devised different stories and hooks for different mediums, before leaning into our media contacts to generate publicity. We were able to secure earned media in the Herald Sun, on Channel 9 and Channel 7 news, an interview with NBTA Chairman Justin Keast on 3AW and in the Maribyrnong / Hobsons Bay Star News, as well as several industry publications. The publicity led to the NBTA securing meetings with Victorian Government groups to discuss the case, with work still ongoing.
